Talks that shift rooms. Ideas that reshape systems

I speak to audiences around the world about systems change, social enterprise, neuroinclusion, disability justice, race, solidarity and the future of work. My talks are grounded in three decades of building things, not just describing problems.

Atif Choudhury speaking at a conference

Six themes. One thread: building participation.

  • Good intentions are not infrastructure

Most organisations have values. Few have built the systems to practise them. I challenge leaders to close the gap between what they say and what people actually experience, across inclusion, accessibility, culture and public services.

    Key outcomes

    • Understand why intention without infrastructure fails
    • Identify where your systems contradict your values
    • Practical frameworks for turning policy into lived experience
Audience:Leadership teams, public sector, conference audiences
    Formats:Keynote · Workshop · Advisory conversation
  • The Anticipatory Welcome

My original framework for designing inclusion before people arrive, not retrofitting it as an afterthought. This talk challenges organisations to stop asking people to disclose, justify and fight their way in, and start building systems that expect difference from the outset.

    Key outcomes

    • Understand the difference between reactive and anticipatory inclusion
    • Apply the Anticipatory Welcome to workplace design and culture
    • Build systems that expect and celebrate neurodiversity and disability
    Audience:HR leaders, D&I teams, senior leadership, all-staff
    Formats:Keynote · Workshop · Masterclass
  • Who gets to participate?

Employment, poverty, technology, education and civil society all share the same design flaw: they were built for a narrow idea of who counts. I explore what participation really means, and what it takes to redesign systems so more people can be inside them.

    Key outcomes

    • Reframe inclusion as a participation and power question
    • Connect workforce exclusion to poverty, technology and policy
    • Design interventions that address root causes, not symptoms
Audience:Policy makers, public sector, social enterprise, education
    Formats:Keynote · Panel · Advisory conversation
  • Solidarity made practical

From co-founding Zaytoun, the world's first Fairtrade Palestinian olive oil enterprise, to building disabled-led social enterprises, I show how values can become commerce, livelihoods and lasting infrastructure without losing their meaning.

    Key outcomes

    • Understand how solidarity translates into sustainable enterprise
    • Learn from 20+ years of values-led business building
    • Apply social enterprise thinking to your own organisation
Audience:Social enterprise sector, ethical trade, leadership, investors
    Formats:Keynote · Fireside conversation · Panel
  • Beyond labels: race, class, disability and belonging

Intersectionality is not a buzzword, it is the reality of most people's lives. As a British Bangladeshi, neurodivergent, care-experienced social entrepreneur, I explore what it means to lead from the edges and why single-axis approaches to inclusion always fall short.

    Key outcomes

    • Understand intersectionality beyond theory
    • Challenge single-axis D&I approaches
    • Build cultures of genuine belonging, not category management
Audience:Leadership, D&I professionals, policy makers, education
    Formats:Keynote · Workshop · Panel · Academic lecture
  • The economics of inclusion

Workforce participation, retention, burnout, productivity and national policy are all connected. I make the economic case for inclusion, not as a moral argument dressed in numbers, but as a genuine analysis of what exclusion costs and what participation creates.

    Key outcomes

    • Quantify the cost of exclusion in your organisation
    • Connect neuroinclusion to retention, productivity and innovation
    • Build the business case for systemic change
Audience:C-suite, finance leaders, HR directors, policy makers
    Formats:Keynote · Executive workshop · Advisory conversation
